Another one of characteristics that make inspiration a great tool to visualize
ideas and their relationship to each other is the ability to
change the symbols that represent the different topics and sub-topics.
Types of Symbols
the "bubble" graphic where the words appear inside the graphic. These can
be a distinishguish by the blank sections inside the graphic.
the "picture" graphic where the words appear directly below
the graphic. These include clip art and graphics of cute animals,
etc.
Symbol Libraries
Inspiration comes with a vast collection of symbols and graphics.
1. The symbol palette (usually located on the left hand side of
the screen) can be turned off and on by going to View
on the menu bar and down to Symbol Palette (F8).
2. To change the library you are currently viewing, click and
hold the arrow pointing down (shown) at the top of the
Symbol Palette.
The arrows pointing to the right and left move you
to the next or previous library.

Symbol
To change the symbol on your diagram
First select the symbol you want to change.
Go to the Symbol Palette (on the left).
Choose the symbol on the symbol palette and click.
Your symbol is now different.
